This is the one that actually saves water
About 5.7 l/min, against 12 to 15 l/min for the full-flow aerator in this hub.
That is roughly a third of the flow. On a basin used twenty times a day for washing hands, it is the difference that shows on a water bill and — more to the point — on the gas bill, because most of what is saved was heated.
The size to check first
M18.5. Less common than the M22 and M24 covered by the other aerators here.
Unscrew your existing one and check before ordering. It is the one thing that makes this the wrong purchase.
Plastic, and why that is deliberate
POM, made in Germany. Not brass — and POM is the standard engineering plastic for water-contact parts. It does not scale the way metal does at the same rate, and it is what the flow-regulating insert is made of anyway.
The drinking-water statement
The maker states that requirements are “systematically tested, monitored and independently confirmed”. No standard is named, which is weaker than the KTW-A and W270 cited by two hoses in this hub — and stronger than the nothing offered by the other aerators here.
