Who makes what, and what each one is good at

Most brands here are strong at one thing and ordinary at the rest. Each page says which, from what the maker itself publishes on its Amazon.com listings: flow rates, certifications, warranty terms, and the figures it leaves out.

Why a brand gets a page

A brand appears here once at least one of its products is reviewed and sold on Amazon.com for delivery to a US address. When every product of a brand is withdrawn, because the listing stopped shipping to the US or was built for European plumbing, its page goes too and its address points back to this list.

The long-established American names, Moen, Pfister, Kohler and Delta, tend to publish flow rates against federal and California limits and lead-content certifications; Moen, Pfister and Delta also state lifetime limited warranties on the faucets and showers here, while several Kohler pages give no warranty term at all. Each brand page notes which figures are missing, so you can ask before buying.

No brand pays to be listed, and the order above is editorial. Amazon links carry our affiliate tag, as the affiliate disclosure explains.
