The bottom line The entry tap that says what it is made of. What it will not tell you is how tall it is, and on a basin that is the measurement that decides.

SUS304. Under a finish, a tap is brass, stainless steel or zamak — a cast zinc alloy that is brittle where threads are cut. Naming the grade is a statement about the part you cannot see.
A ceramic cartridge. The standard modern valve, as opposed to a rubber washer that hardens. What is missing is its diameter: 35 mm and 40 mm are the common sizes, and that is what a replacement is ordered by.
Spout height and spout reach. The first decides whether a hand fits under the tap; the second decides whether water lands in the bowl or on the rim. On a shallow countertop bowl they decide whether the tap is usable at all.
Measure your tap hole — almost certainly 35 mm — and the distance down to your isolating valves, because the supplied tails have to reach.

It is the corrosion-resistant grade, and it matters where the surface is chipped or where water sits at the base. On a black tap it matters more than usual, because the coating is what you can see and the steel is what holds the threads.
Check the maker's own care instructions before using anything acidic. Most coloured finishes are damaged permanently by descaler, and wiping after use is the maintenance that works on them.
