Size is a claim about your pressure, not about luxury
The best rain shower heads for 2026
A fixed head is judged on how evenly it covers you, and coverage is a flow-per-area question rather than a size question. Double the diameter and you quadruple the area the same litres have to fill; that is why a 30 cm head on a 1.5 bar supply feels like standing in drizzle while a 20 cm head on the same supply feels like a shower. Read the stated flow rate together with the pressure it was measured at — a figure without its bar value tells you nothing — and read the maker's stated minimum. Two mechanical details separate the durable from the disposable: the thread, which is G1/2 on essentially everything and therefore not a constraint, and whether the nozzles are rubber cones you can rub clean. In hard water that second detail decides whether the head still works in three years. We compare face size and shape, thread size, stated flow rate with its test pressure, spray pattern, and whether the nozzles are cleanable.
