The best flexible supply hoses for 2026

A flexible hose is the last link between the wall and the tap, and it is a consumable with a long life rather than a permanent part. Get the end fittings right first: the pair you almost always want is 3/8 inch female at the valve and 3/8 inch male or M10 at the tap, but tap tails vary and adapters are not free. Then length, and the rule is generous rather than exact — a hose under tension is a hose that will leak, and a bend tighter than the maker's stated bend radius crushes the liner. The construction matters more than the price suggests: a stainless steel braid over an EPDM or PEX liner is the standard, and the makers who publish a pressure and temperature rating are the ones to prefer. Nothing about this part is exciting, and a failed one empties a heated cylinder into a kitchen ceiling.
