A blocked basin is almost always hair and soap in the first 30 cm, and it comes out mechanically. That is worth saying plainly because the alternative is worse: caustic and acid drain openers sit in the trap when they fail to clear it, they attack some plastics and chrome, and they turn a simple job into a hazardous one for whoever opens the trap afterwards.
