A curtain is bought a size too small more often than any other item here. It has to be wider than the opening — the usual advice is a third again, so a 120 cm bath takes a 180 cm curtain — because the overlap is what stops water leaving at the ends. Drop should clear the rim inside the bath rather than reach the floor. Then the two details that decide whether it behaves: a weighted hem, which is what stops the curtain climbing your legs on a warm morning, and the eyelets, which should be metal or reinforced because plastic ones tear at the top corner first.
