Anodised aluminium is a real material choice

Rolled, then sandblasted, then anodised — three named processes, which is more than “stainless steel” tells you.

Anodising grows a hard oxide layer on the metal and takes colour into it. It is how you get a genuinely matt black or matt white fitting, which stainless cannot do without a coating that eventually chips.

If your taps are matt black — and several in this catalogue are — this is the hook that matches them.

What anodising cannot do

It is a surface layer. Deep enough a scratch and you are through to bare aluminium, which is soft.

Stainless steel is the same material all the way through.

The number that is missing

No load capacity at all.

Both stainless hook sets in this hub state 10 kg. One states 3 kg conservative and 5 kg applied well. This one says “holds firmly”.

Without a figure, treat them as hooks for a hand towel or a dressing gown, not a soaked bath sheet.
