What each one is for

180 mm at 30 mm — inside the cabinet, on compression fittings and valve spindles.

240 mm at 40 mm — the everyday size, and the one that takes a tap back nut.

420 mm at 92 mm — a trap body, a large union, a shower arm. Nothing else in this hub goes near it.

Adjustment at the workpiece

Press the button with the jaws already on the nut and the size sets itself there. The alternative is guessing the setting, offering it up, and repeating.

The finish

Black phosphate, not chrome. It holds oil, resists rust, and does not flake off the jaws the way plating does on a tool that gets used.
