JOHO 70 cm stainless rail set with three-mode head and 150 cm hose review

The complete version of the rail above: same 70 cm bar and same 30 to 65 cm bracket range, with a three-mode head and a stainless hose added.

The bottom line The most completely dimensioned set on the page. Everything you need to know is published, and everything but the rail is plastic.

What you are getting

A lead-free stainless rail 70 cm long and 22 mm across, in two parts, with a 10 × 12 cm three-mode hand shower, a 150 cm twist-free stainless hose, an adjustable plastic holder, two plastic wall brackets settable from 30 to 65 cm, and all fixings.

Five published dimensions

70 cm rail. 22 mm diameter. 30 to 65 cm brackets. 10 × 12 cm head. 150 cm hose.

No other complete set in this hub publishes more than two of those. It means the whole thing can be checked against your wall and your existing holes before it is ordered.

Named patterns, on a button

Rain, soft massage, power massage, changed by pressing rather than twisting a stiff ring with wet hands. Naming them is worth more than counting five unnamed ones.

Where the money was saved

Plastic wall brackets and a plastic head body with a POM interior. Neither will corrode in a wet room, which is a real argument. But the rail-only set beside it in this hub uses metal brackets for less money, and if the head and hose you have are fine, that is the better buy.

The detail that matters in three years

The holder can be attached or replaced without taking the rail off the wall. That is a small sentence about the part most likely to break.

What we like, and what we don't

Strengths

  • The only complete rail set in this hub to publish every dimension — rail, diameter, bracket range, head size and hose length
  • Named spray patterns — rain, soft massage, power massage — on a push button rather than a stiff ring
  • The holder can be fitted or swapped without taking the rail off the wall, stated

Compromises

  • The wall brackets are plastic, where the rail above uses metal
  • The head body is plastic with a POM interior, not metal
  • No flow figure of any kind, on a set that names three patterns

Questions people actually ask

Can I fit the holder without removing the rail?

The maker states so: loosen the knob, clip the holder to the slider, tighten. That matters when the holder breaks in three years and the rail is siliconed to the wall.

Are plastic wall brackets a problem?

They carry the weight of a bar and a head, not much more, and they are each fixed with a single screw. They will not corrode, which metal in a wet room eventually does. But the rail above this one in the hub uses metal, and at a lower price.
