Why does it need an external cistern?

Because the bidet is fed by teeing into the pipe that fills the cistern, and you have to be able to reach that pipe. On a concealed cistern behind a wall the connection is inside the wall panel, and the job stops being a twenty-minute one.

How do I know it will fit?
