What you are getting

Those two numbers are the whole compatibility question: the inlet has to match your waste, and the outlet has to match the pipe in your wall. Publishing both is what lets the trap be ordered rather than tried.
Note the 32 mm only. If the pipe already in your wall is 40 mm, this needs a reducer.
The bottom that unscrews on its own
A blockage in a basin trap is hair and soap in the bend. If only the lower section comes off, you catch it in a bowl and screw it back. If the whole trap has to come down, you are disconnecting both ends over an open cupboard.
Where plastic wins
Drain cleaner. Caustic cleaner attacks metal traps from the inside over years and does nothing to polypropylene. A trap inside a cabinet is never seen, and inside a cabinet is where plastic is simply the better material.
The figure nobody gives
Water seal depth. Not one trap in this hub publishes it. It is the depth of water held in the bend, and it is what decides whether a fortnight away means smells on your return.

Does plastic or metal last longer?
Plastic, generally, on the inside. Caustic drain cleaner attacks metal and does not touch polypropylene, and a plastic trap does not corrode at the seals. Metal wins on appearance, which only matters where the trap is visible.
What if my waste pipe is 40 mm?
This trap states a 32 mm outlet, so you would need a reducer. Two traps in this hub state a 32 to 40 mm range and fit either without one — worth choosing if you do not yet know what is in the wall.
