Tall, narrow, and it must be anchored to the wall
A tall narrow cabinet is the most efficient storage in a small bathroom and the least stable object in it. Every serious maker supplies an anti-tip anchor and instructs you to fix the unit to the wall; follow those instructions, particularly with children in the house. On the cabinet itself, the specification that decides usefulness is shelf spacing and whether it is adjustable — fixed shelves at 9.8 in (25 cm) will not take a tall bottle, and half the volume of a column is wasted by shelves in the wrong place. Depth is the trade-off against the room: 7.9 in (20 cm) passes a doorway comfortably and holds towels flat, 11.8 in (30 cm) holds more and starts to block. The last question is the material, and it is a real one in a wet room: chipboard with a melamine face survives splashes and swells the moment water reaches a cut edge, while MDF with a lacquered finish and solid wood behave differently again.
