The pull-out spray is the one kitchen faucet feature people actually use daily, and it is also the one that fails. It works by a counterweight that drags the hose back down under the sink, so the space below matters: a deep drawer unit or a water softener in the cabinet can stop the weight traveling and leave the hose hanging out.
