What the maker puts in writing
- “This tall cabinet features a light strip that turns on automatically when the cabinet door is opened and off when it’s closed, making it easy for you to search for items in dim areas”
- “The doors of this storage cabinet can be set up to open to left or right”
- “Sized at 11.8”D x 11.8”W x 66.9”H, this narrow yet tall cabinet offers tons of storage yet takes up little space”
- “Its top and bottom cabinets, each with an adjustable shelf that has 5 height options”
- “Crafted with painted MDF, the surface of this storage cabinet is easy to wipe clean. Plus, it comes with an anti-tip kit”
The same cabinet in a different color
UBBC566W02 — Cloud White — $89.99
UBBC566C01 — Forest Green — $89.99
Same dimensions, same five bullets letter for letter, same price.
So the only decision is the color. White disappears into any bathroom and matches the four other white cabinets on this shelf; the green is the only non-white unit here and reads as a piece of furniture.
Neither costs more than the other.
And the weight that cannot be trusted
This listing publishes 33.1 lb (15,014 g).
The Haotian on this shelf also publishes 33.1 lb (15,014 g) — a different cabinet, a different maker, different dimensions, different materials.
Identical to the gram. That is a catalog duplication, not a coincidence, and there is no way to tell which of the two is real.
It matters because on MDF furniture weight is the main clue to panel thickness, and panel thickness is what stops a shelf bowing under bottles and holds a cam screw when the cabinet is moved.
Worse: the maker’s own Forest Green version of this same cabinet publishes no weight at all.
If substance is the question, the SoBuy on this shelf answers it properly — 26.03 lb of cabinet rated to carry 99 lb — and it is the only listing here that publishes a load capacity.
The light, which is a real convenience
The top compartment of a 67-inch cabinet sits above eye level and in its own shadow, with the room light behind you. So you reach in and feel about.
A strip that comes on when the door opens solves that, and the door is the right trigger: it happens anyway, and it switches off when you close it.
Compare the Haotian here, whose LED is ambient-sensing — it lights “in low light”, which inside a shut cabinet is always — and which needs batteries you buy.
VASAGLE does not say how its own light is powered at all. Batteries, a lead, a USB cable: nothing. That is the question to ask, because it decides whether the feature survives its first year.
Four of the six cabinets on this shelf have no light whatever.
Reversible doors and ten shelf positions
Left or right, decided at assembly — which in a bathroom is dictated by the door that swings and the toilet beside it, not by preference.
Two adjustable shelves, five heights each, which covers a shampoo bottle and a box of plasters in the same cabinet.
The maker’s own UBBC765 on this shelf goes further — four shelves, five positions each, and the option of putting the doors on the upper or lower section — in a much slimmer body.
Eleven point eight inches square
About 139 square inches of floor: the middle of this shelf.
Narrow enough for the gap beside a toilet; deep enough that a folded towel goes in front to back rather than wedged.
The anti-tip kit
Sixty-seven inches on a twelve-inch base. All six makers here supply one, and all six are right to. Fit it the day you build it.
And the comparison to make before buying
Haotian — $55.99 — E1-grade MDF, a tempered glass shelf, louvred doors that let a damp towel dry, a light, a larger footprint.
This — $89.99 — painted MDF, a door-triggered light, two five-position shelves, reversible doors.
Thirty-four dollars buys the reversibility and the shelf adjustment. It does not buy ventilation, a formaldehyde class, a glass shelf or a load figure.
In a room that fills with steam twice a day, with towels going into the cabinet, the louvres are the specification that matters most — and they are on the cheapest cabinet on this shelf.
