What the maker puts in writing
- “This tall cabinet features a light strip that turns on automatically when the cabinet door is opened and off when it’s closed, making it easy for you to search for items in dim areas”
- “The doors of this storage cabinet can be set up to open to left or right, ensuring it complements any space layout”
- “Sized at 11.8”D x 11.8”W x 66.9”H, this narrow yet tall cabinet offers tons of storage yet takes up little space”
- “Its top and bottom cabinets, each with an adjustable shelf that has 5 height options, can accommodate items of various sizes”
- “Crafted with painted MDF… Plus, it comes with an anti-tip kit to attach the tall cabinet to the wall”
The same cabinet as the white one
VASAGLE sells this twice on this shelf:
UBBC566C01 — Forest Green — $89.99
UBBC566W02 — Cloud White — $89.99
Same dimensions. Same five bullets, word for word. Same price.
So there is nothing to weigh up between them except the color, and no premium either way. (One oddity: the white version publishes a weight of 33.1 lb (15,014 g) and this one publishes none — a catalog inconsistency rather than a difference in the furniture.)
Which makes the green worth noting on its own terms: it is the only cabinet on this shelf that is not white. Dark green against white tiles reads as a chosen piece of furniture rather than a storage unit, and that is a legitimate reason to buy something.
A light that follows the door
Turns on automatically when the cabinet door is opened and off when it’s closed.
Which is the right logic, and worth comparing with the other lit cabinet here.
The Haotian uses an ambient light sensor — it comes on “in low light”. Inside a closed cabinet it is always low light, so that arrangement must rely on a door contact as well, or it would burn continuously.
VASAGLE’s is a switch, triggered by the thing you were going to do anyway.
What it does not say is how the light is powered. Batteries, a cable, a USB lead — nothing. And that is the question that decides whether the strip still works in a year. The Haotian at least states plainly that batteries are required and not included.
Two shelves, ten positions
One adjustable shelf in the top cabinet and one in the bottom, five heights each.
Which covers the real problem — a shampoo bottle is eight inches and a box of plasters is one — without the granularity of the maker’s own UBBC765 on this shelf, which has four shelves at five positions.
Reversible doors
Left or right, decided at assembly.
In a bathroom this is more useful than it sounds, because which way a cabinet can open is decided by the room: the door that swings, the toilet beside it, the corner it stands in. Four of the six cabinets on this shelf offer the choice; the Haotian and the SoBuy do not state one.
Eleven point eight inches square
About 139 square inches of floor — the middle of this shelf, between the SoBuy’s 62.4 and the UBBK760’s 194.7.
Which is the useful compromise: narrow enough for the strip beside a toilet, deep enough that a folded towel fits front to back rather than being wedged.
The anti-tip kit, as everywhere here
Sixty-seven inches tall on an eleven-and-three-quarter-inch base. Every maker on this shelf supplies the bracket. Fit it.
And the comparison that will not go away
Haotian — $55.99 — E1-grade MDF, a tempered glass shelf, louvred doors, a light, a slightly larger footprint.
This — $89.99 — painted MDF, a door-triggered light, two five-position shelves, reversible doors, forest green.
Thirty-four dollars buys the reversibility, the shelf adjustment and the color. It does not buy a published formaldehyde class, a glass shelf, a load capacity, or any ventilation at all — and in a room full of steam with towels going into the cabinet, the louvres are the specification that matters most.
Buy this one for the green and the reversible doors. Not for the engineering.
