Solid metal with commercial-grade finishes that do not flake or rust
8-inch rain head at a maximum 2.5 gpm, with custom-engineered nozzles to raise pressure
Mounts overhead on a ceiling arm, on an adjustable arm or on a standard elbow
Standard 1/2-inch NPT brass threads, compatible with homes in the US and Canada
The thread, named
Of the four rain heads here, this is the only one that states 1/2-inch NPT, the thread American shower arms use, and that it is brass. Others say standard or quote a metric thread. It means the seal is made by the threads with tape, the way a plumber expects.
2.5 gpm
That is the federal maximum, and more than California, Colorado, New York, Washington and several other states allow for sale. Outside those states it gives the heaviest rain on this shelf. Inside them, choose the SparkPod or the Voolan at 1.8.
What the price buys
Solid metal, 1.6 pounds, and a finish described as commercial grade. The page does not name the metal or give a warranty term, though the first bullet is headed Built to last a lifetime.

The questions we get
Can I install it in California?
Not as listed: 2.5 gpm exceeds the 1.8 gpm limit for shower heads sold there, and the 2.0 gpm limits in Colorado and New York. The SparkPod and Voolan on this shelf ship at 1.8 gpm.
What is 1/2 inch NPT?
The tapered pipe thread used on American and Canadian shower arms. HammerHead names it, and states the threads are brass. Several cheaper heads quote a metric G1/2 thread or no thread at all.
Is solid metal worth it?
It does not crack at the thread, the most common failure of plastic heads, and holds its finish. Whether it is worth about $45 more than a stainless face like the Voolan depends on how long you keep a shower head.
