WEWE high-arc pull-down kitchen faucet review

A budget pull-down faucet that documents itself well: 304 stainless body, ceramic cartridge, cUPC and NSF 61, 20 inches of hose and a five-year warranty.

What the listing puts in writing

  • Three spray settings — stream, spray, pause — CEC listed, 1.8 gpm
  • Pull-down hose and supply hoses pre-installed in the faucet; DIY install in under 15 minutes
  • 0.06 in 304 stainless steel body, SU304 stainless handle, ceramic cartridge
  • PE corrugated pull-out hose, stainless braided hose, PEX and 304-braid supply hoses; NSF/ANSI 61 ABS spray head with silicone nozzles
  • Gravity ball retraction; 1 or 3 holes; five-year warranty

What fifty dollars buys here

Most budget faucets say stainless steel and stop. This one gives the grade, 304, and the wall thickness, 0.06 inch, on the body. It lists cUPC and NSF 61, the two listings an American plumber looks for, and backs it with five years of warranty, more than the FORIOUS on this shelf.

The pause button

A third spray setting, pause, stops the water at the head. On a double sink it saves re-finding your temperature every time you move the spray, and it is the feature a budget faucet rarely has.

The numbers to check yourself

The spec table puts both the spout height and the reach at 8.5 inches. That repetition reads as a placeholder rather than two measurements. The overall height, 15.7 inches, and the 1.38-inch hole are the figures to plan around; check clearance under a window or a cabinet.

Strengths, and the catches

Strengths

  • Names the body metal and its wall thickness: 0.06 in of 304 stainless steel
  • cUPC and NSF 61 listed, with a ceramic cartridge and a five-year warranty, at about $50
  • A pause button on the spray head, which stops the flow mid-task without touching the lever

Compromises

  • The spec table gives 8.5 in for both spout height and reach, so neither can be relied on
  • Half-inch adapters are not included, for older valves that need them
  • The catalog lists it as a shower panel, a data error worth knowing when searching for parts

The questions we get

What is the pause mode for?

It stops the water at the spray head while the lever stays where you set it. Moving the spray from one side of a double sink to the other, or stopping to load a pan, you press pause instead of shutting off and re-finding your temperature.

Will it fit my sink?

It mounts in a 1.38-inch hole, the American standard of 1-3/8 inches, and a deck plate covers the outer holes of a 3-hole sink. The supply lines are pre-installed in the faucet; if your shutoff valves need a 1/2-inch connection, the adapters are not in the box.

Is 1.8 gpm enough?

It is the California limit for kitchen faucets, under the 2.2 gpm federal ceiling, and what four of the five pull-down faucets on this shelf deliver. Filling a stockpot takes a little longer than with a 2.2 gpm faucet.
