Moen Adler 87233SRS pulldown faucet review

Moen's entry pulldown with Reflex docking and Power Clean spray, at 1.5 gpm, with a limited lifetime warranty — and a zinc body according to its own spec table.

What the listing puts in writing

  • Power Clean spray technology: up to 50% more spray power, with less splash
  • Retractable pulldown sprayer with the Reflex system for smooth operation and secure docking
  • 1- or 3-hole installation, deckplate included
  • Spot Resist Stainless finish against fingerprints and water spots
  • Two spray modes: aerated stream and powerful rinse; limited lifetime warranty

What the brand buys

On this shelf, the jump from the $40–$50 faucets to this one is a jump in support rather than specification. Moen gives a limited lifetime warranty, a named docking system and parts sold under a model number, 87233SRS, that a hardware store can look up.

What the spec table says

Zinc. That is the body material Moen’s own spec table lists. The WEWE and FORIOUS here state 304 stainless steel; the KRAUS lists brass. Zinc is the usual metal for a cast faucet body at this price, and the warranty covers it.

1.5 gpm, the lowest flow on this shelf. 68 inches of hose, which is the full hose under the sink rather than how far the head pulls out.

What is missing

No swivel range. A spout height of 14.6 inches that matches the 14.56-inch overall height, so the real clearance under the spout is not given.

The questions we get

What is Reflex?

Moen's name for the retraction system that pulls the spray head back into the spout and holds it there. The listing calls it smooth operation with secure docking after every use. A spray head that will not stay docked is the most common complaint about cheaper pulldowns, which is what a named system addresses.

Does a zinc body matter?

It is cheaper than brass and less forgiving of corrosion, but on a kitchen faucet the water runs through hoses and the cartridge, not the body casting. It matters most to long-term finish and thread strength. Moen covers the faucet with a limited lifetime warranty, which shifts that risk to the maker.

Why is the flow 1.5 gpm?

It is below the 1.8 gpm of most kitchen faucets here. Power Clean is Moen's answer: a spray pattern designed to clean harder with less water. Filling a pot takes a little longer than with a 1.8 gpm faucet.
