Brass, written down

Of the three vessel faucets on this shelf, this is the one whose page names its metal: solid brass. The gotonovo states SUS304 stainless steel; the hansgrohe does not name its body. On a faucet you will turn several times a day for years, the body metal is what decides whether the threads and the mounting hold.

Spout height against your bowl

The page states 12-1/8 inches overall. The spec table puts the spout at 8.13 inches with 5.13 inches of reach. A vessel bowl sits on the counter, so its rim takes part of that height. Measure your bowl, subtract it from 8.13, and keep at least two inches for hands.

The drain question, answered

The box holds a matching pop-up drain for the 1.75-inch opening that most vessel sinks use. That saves an order and a finish mismatch.

What it costs

At about $180, this is the most expensive faucet on this shelf. The gotonovo publishes more spout height and a five-year warranty at about $53; what the extra buys here is a named brass body, a lifetime warranty and a matched drain.

Strengths, and the catches

Strengths

  • Solid brass named on the page, which none of the other two vessel faucets here states
  • A matching pop-up drain sized for the standard 1.75 in vessel opening
  • Lifetime limited warranty covering the finish as well as the faucet

Compromises

  • The most expensive faucet on this shelf, at about $180
  • 5.13 in of reach, the shortest of the three, so check it lands inside a wide bowl
  • The maker warns that gold finishes vary in appearance with the room's lighting

The questions we get

How tall a bowl does it suit?

The page gives 12-1/8 inches overall and, in the spec table, 8.13 inches of spout height. Subtract the height of your bowl above the counter from the spout height: with a 5-inch vessel, about three inches remain under the spout. For taller bowls, the hansgrohe Logis Fine 240 and the gotonovo on this shelf publish more spout height.

Does the drain fit any vessel sink?

It is stated for a standard 1.75-inch drain opening, which most vessel sinks have. A vessel sink without an overflow hole needs a drain without overflow slots; check which kind your bowl takes before relying on the one in the box.

Why the warning about gold?

KRAUS notes that a reflective gold finish changes with warm or cool lighting and with the colors around it. It is a fair note: order a finish sample or compare in the room's light if matching other gold fittings matters.
