A European maker, an American faucet
The retired hansgrohe listings on this site were European models, rated in liters per minute, with connections that do not meet American shutoff valves. This is not one of them. 71258001 is the US Logis Fine: 1.2 gpm and 3/8-inch hoses, which is what an American vanity has under it.
Two heights to reconcile
hansgrohe describes the clearance as ComfortZone 240, a 240 mm zone between spout and sink, about 9.45 inches. The Amazon.com spec table gives a 12-inch spout height. They measure different things — the zone above the counter against the spout’s height from it — and the zone is the one to use against your bowl.
Subtract your bowl’s rim height from 9.45 inches. That is the space your hands get.
The part that keeps it working
On a tall faucet in hard water, the aerator is what scales up first. This one comes out with a coin. EcoRight holds the flow at 1.2 gpm across changing pressure, which matters on a high floor where pressure drops at peak times.
What is not here
No drain in the box, where the KRAUS and the gotonovo on this shelf include one. No UPC on the listing. And at about $157, it costs three times the gotonovo, which also publishes a 9.6-inch spout height.

The questions we get
What does ComfortZone 240 mean?
It is hansgrohe's name for the clearance between the spout and the sink, here 240 mm, about 9.45 inches. On a vessel sink, subtract the height of the bowl's rim above the counter: what is left is the working space for your hands. With a 5-inch bowl, that leaves roughly four and a half inches.
Do I need a drain?
Yes. The box contains the faucet, the connection hoses and instructions; no drain is listed. A vessel sink without an overflow takes a non-slotted drain, usually 1-3/4 inch at the opening — check your bowl.
Is this the European Logis?
No. 71258001 is listed at 1.2 gpm with 3/8-inch hoses, which is the American configuration. The European models are rated in liters per minute and connect on threads American valves do not have.
