Six inches of plastic or twelve of stainless, at the same price
Pressure on a weak supply, or coverage on a good one?
Two rain heads within two dollars of each other and both shipped at 1.8 gpm. SparkPod keeps the face small, in ABS, and adds a 2.5 gpm restrictor for low-pressure homes where that is allowed; Voolan spreads the same flow over twelve inches of 304 stainless steel.

A tick marks the better answer on that line only. Counting ticks does not decide the page — the two verdicts below do, because these products answer different questions.
Take the SparkPod on weak pressure: the small face keeps the rain heavy at 1.8 gpm, and the 2.5 gpm restrictor is there where your state allows it.
Take the Voolan on good pressure or a ceiling arm: twelve inches of stainless steel for the same money, at the same 1.8 gpm.
Both deliver 1.8 gpm. Spread over a 12-inch face, that flow falls as lighter rain than over a 6-inch one. Coverage costs intensity unless your supply pressure is good.
On a standard wall arm, both point forward. SparkPod says an S-shaped arm is needed for straight-down rain; the Voolan square face is best on a ceiling arm or extension.
