CRI above ninety
That figure appears on one of the four listings on this shelf, and it is the specification this entire shelf is about.
The Color Rendering Index measures how truthfully a light renders color against daylight, on a scale to 100. Below about 80, reds go muddy and skin looks gray. Above 90 is what photographers and makeup artists work under.
Now read what the other listings offer in its place:
Natural White (4000K) for true-to-color makeup application.
Four thousand Kelvin is the hue of the white. It is not accuracy. A 4000 K lamp at CRI 70 and a 4000 K lamp at CRI 95 look nearly the same on a white wall and render a face completely differently — which is why makeup applied in a cheap bathroom mirror looks wrong in a parking garage.
The three DUMOS mirrors on this shelf promise true color and publish the wrong measurement for it. This one publishes the right one.
And a defogger that knows when to stop
Automatically shuts off after 60 minutes for safety and energy efficiency.
A defogger is a resistive heating pad bonded behind the glass. Once the steam has cleared it has no job to do.
The three DUMOS listings do not mention shut-off at all, which leaves it unknown.
This one turns itself off, and says why.
Ten per cent
The dimming floor, which is the end of the range that matters.
Antok 10%. The three identical DUMOS 20%.
Ten per cent is a light you can meet at three in the morning with your eyes half shut.
The sentence five other listings should have
Supports both hardwired and plug-in power options.
This is the practical omission running through this shelf. A bathroom mirror needs electricity, and an American bathroom typically has either an outlet beside the sink or a junction box behind the mirror — rarely both.
The other three listings do not say which they expect.
So a mirror can arrive with a bare cable and no box in the wall, or with a plug and nowhere to put it. This one does either, with two Z-bar brackets, horizontal or vertical mounting, and all the hardware in the box.
What the glass is
Five millimeter nano tempered, stated shatterproof and explosion-proof.
Only this mirror publishes a glass specification on this shelf. The largest mirror here — twelve square feet of it — publishes none.
What it costs
Fifteen dollars seven a square foot, the highest here, where DUMOS’s 36 x 48 is $7.29.
Seven and a half square feet for $112.99 against twelve square feet for $87.91.
If the job is seeing whether your hair is flat, buy the DUMOS. If this is the mirror you put your face in every day, the six things on this page that nothing else here offers are what the money is for.
And lifetime free maintenance is the only after-sales commitment published on this shelf at all.
