KRAUS Bolden water filter faucet review

A commercial-style pull-down with a built-in filtered-water outlet on its own independent line, 1.6 gpm filtered, brass body and lifetime warranty — the filter system is sold separately.

What the listing puts in writing

  • 2-in-1 faucet with a built-in drinking water tap; 360° swivel; 1.8 gpm, up to 1.6 gpm filtered
  • DuoPure: two independent water lines for tap and filtered water against cross-contamination
  • Works with most filtration systems including reverse osmosis; pair with KRAUS FS-1001
  • Metal body, ceramic cartridge, nylon water lines; one handle with 90° forward rotation; lead-free
  • Independent docking arm for the filter tap; pre-attached water lines

A faucet, not a filter

The first thing to know: no filter is included. This faucet delivers water from a system installed under the sink. KRAUS names its own FS-1001 as a pairing; any under-counter system with a dedicated outlet line will do.

Two lines, all the way

The reason to buy a dedicated filter faucet instead of drilling a second hole is that the filtered water has its own path. DuoPure keeps the tap and filtered supplies in two independent lines, and KRAUS states it as protection against cross-contamination.

How fast the glass fills

1.6 gpm filtered is published, which few listings give. Expect the real figure to depend on the filter: a reverse osmosis system feeding from a storage tank delivers less than an inline carbon filter.

Height

A commercial spout stands tall: 19-1/4 inches in the bullets, 18.75 in the table. Measure under any cabinet or window before ordering.

Strengths, and the catches

Strengths

  • Two independent water lines, so filtered water never shares a passage with tap water
  • A filtered flow rate published, 1.6 gpm, which says how fast a glass fills
  • Brass body, ceramic cartridge and a lifetime warranty

Compromises

  • About $330, and the filter system is a separate purchase on top
  • Two overall heights on one page: 19-1/4 in in the bullets, 18.75 in in the spec table
  • Tall commercial styling that will not fit under a low cabinet or window

The questions we get

Does it filter water?

No. It delivers filtered water from a system you install under the sink. KRAUS states it works with most under-counter systems, reverse osmosis included, and suggests its own FS-1001. Budget for the filter and its cartridges separately.

Why do independent lines matter?

A filter faucet with a shared passage can let tap water linger where filtered water comes out. DuoPure keeps the two supplies separate from valve to outlet. It is the design point that separates a dedicated filter faucet from a cheap adapter.

Will it fit my sink?

It needs a single 1.5-inch hole and roughly 19 inches of height above the deck. Its forward-rotating handle helps against a backsplash; the height is what rules it out under a cabinet.
