Eighteen point four seven inches
That is the most useful thing on this page, and the reason to buy a Brondell rather than one of the cheaper seats here.
A replacement seat has to fit the bowl, and there are two bowl shapes. Measure from the center of the seat bolt holes to the front of the rim: about 16.5 inches is round, about 18.5 is elongated.
Brondell sells both and publishes both:
Round — 18.47 x 14.34 x 2.55 in — $89.99
Elongated — 20.03 x 14.39 x 2.55 in — $89.99
One and a half inches of length, and on October 29, 2026, no difference in price.
The homfan seat on this shelf says elongated and publishes no dimensions at all. Getting this wrong is a return, not an adjustment.
A lid you can sit on
Sturdy, sittable lid.
Many are not — and bidet seats especially, because the lid often covers a plastic housing full of valves and nozzle plumbing rather than resting on the porcelain rim.
People sit on toilet lids. To put socks on, to watch a child in the bath, while a faucet runs.
Brondell publishes this on both its seats and is the only maker on this shelf that mentions it. The homfan publishes a soft-close lid instead, which is a different and also real virtue.
Ambient water temperature
Which is the polite way of saying cold.
There is no heater, because there is no electricity: no cord, no outlet, no batteries. The water arrives at whatever the cold supply is, which in February is genuinely cold.
Brondell puts it in the title. The BIGCOW and Vestomeli listings here say cold water outright.
every product on this shelf is cold water only. Warm water needs either electricity or a tee into the hot supply under the sink, and nothing here does either. If that is the deciding issue, this is the wrong shelf entirely.
What ninety dollars does not buy
Nothing about the nozzles between uses. That is the hygiene question of this product category, and three cheaper products on this shelf address it: LUXE with a guard gate the nozzles retract behind, homfan and Vestomeli with self-cleaning.
Both Brondell seats are silent on it, at twice the price of the LUXE.
No warranty published on this listing either.
And it is worth knowing the alternative: the BIGCOW attachment is $24.99, fits under the seat you already own, needs no bowl measurement, and publishes all-stainless lead-free water parts. What it does not give you is a seat with a slow-closing lid, or a company with a long record in this product.
