Four things in one box
This is the only listing on this shelf that finishes the job:
The sink. A solid brass chrome faucet. Both supply lines. A stainless steel P-trap.
Now price the alternative. Every other sink here excludes the faucet and the drain — XIFIRY says so outright: Taps & Wastes are not included.
So the real cost of a $49.99 sink is the sink, plus a single-hole faucet, plus a pop-up drain, plus a trap. On this site’s own shelves a modest brass faucet runs $30 to $50, a pop-up drain $10 to $35, and a P-trap $8 to $22.
That is comfortably over a hundred dollars.
MEJE is $82 for all of it — and both metals are the right ones: solid brass for the faucet, which is what casts and plates well and can be rebuilt, and stainless steel for the trap, which sits in waste water for twenty years.
What you give up is choosing the faucet, and the faucet is the thing you look at every morning.
Exterior 16-1/8 in. Interior 10-5/8 in.
So five and a half inches of the width is rim — flat ledge, not sink.
Set that against the CHIKESI on this shelf: 14.37 inches outside, 13.98 inches of bowl. Barely half an inch of rim in total.
So the MEJE is the wider object and much the smaller sink. You could not possibly know that from the titles, and MEJE is one of only three listings here that publishes enough to let you work it out.
Credit for the disclosure. It is still the finding.
Two and three-quarter inches deep
The shallowest bowl published on this shelf, and the consequence is predictable: the faucet is close to the bottom, and water bounces off a shallow bowl and onto the ledge and the floor.
In its favor, that broad left-hand ledge is genuinely useful — it is where the soap and the toothbrush pot go, and on a 16 inch sink there is room for both.
Which is the design this sink has chosen: less bowl, more surface. For a powder room where hands get washed, defensible. For washing a face, the CHIKESI’s near-full-width bowl is the better shape.
Left hand, and that cannot be changed
The bowl is offset to the left with the ledge on the right.
Think about the wall before ordering. A left-hand sink with a wall on its left has its bowl in the corner and its ledge in the open; turn it round and the arrangement is wrong.
The XIFIRY on this shelf is sold as Right Hand, which confirms these come in pairs — and tells you to check which one you are buying.
No overflow, permanently
The supplied drain is Round P Trap Waste kit without overflow — so the sink has no overflow hole and no channel, and nothing can be added later without drilling fired china.
Leave the faucet running with the plug in, and the water goes on the floor.
In a powder room used by children or guests, that is worth weighing. The CHIKESI and the PROFLO on this shelf both have one.
Nine kilograms on two screws
559 grams per inch of width — more substantial than the CHIKESI’s 435 and the XIFIRY’s 382, less than the PROFLO’s 649.
Coming with Wall Mount Screws, which is all the listing says about fixing.
Nine kilograms of ceramic, plus water, plus somebody leaning on it, wants blocking between studs or a wall-hung frame. Not drywall anchors. No listing on this shelf says so, and it is the most common way a wall-mount sink fails.
No warranty published, where the XIFIRY gives twelve months and thirty days’ money back.
